I have a Nikon (I think it's a prostaff) on my 11-87 and it has been fine. I always keep it turned down though and I believe it has a 40 mm objective lense.

I have three slug guns in 12 ga. a, USH-3x9x40 new Redfield, 1100 Rem. 2x7x32 Burris, and 870 Rem.- 3x9x40 Nikon Monarch. IMO if your going to spend $80 for a used Prostaff you can get a new Redfield 2x7 for about $129 and better glass.

I bought a 2x7 Redfield and mounted it on my light ush with leupold rifleman medium rings. It looks very comfortable on my gun and is a great scope for the money.

I have a bushnell trophy shotgun scope on my 870 slug gun.
It is performing better than I thought it would.
I do not know the amount of rounds fired, but it has been dropped a time or
two and keeps the zero.

Another excellent choice would be the 2-7x32 vortex viper

You might want to consider a "shotgun scope" from one of the major manufacturers. Typically, a "shotgun scope" has a thicker reticle for use in heavier cover where shots are close and has the parallax adjusted for a shorter distance than scopes intended to be used on a rifle.
