ShotgunRifle Combo Gun
« on: January 21, 2011, 03:17:44 AM »
Greetings:

Is anyone aware of a company that still markets a shotgun/rifle combo gun suitable for coyote hunting?  12 or  20 over something like a 223.  I have done some searching and found very little information.

Also, what would you think the chances are of finding a model 24 that will still shoot well enough for 'yotes?

Thanks,
Tight Lines and Ten Rings

I believe Savage still makes the model 24 combo gun and it should do very well for what you're wanting.  22 hornet, 222, 223 or 30-30 over 20 or 12 gauge.
Yeah, I'm a rifle looney

I have a Baikal, 12ga over .223.  Yes the shotgun barrel is on top, with the .223 under it.  I don't like it.  It's heavy so it is not too bad when I shoot 3 inch magnum loads when calling varmits.

That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

There is a combo 223/12ga with a scope for sale on www.savage24.com
There is also a Remington made by Baikal 223/12 ga for sale over on WWW.gunbroker.com.

Caution;  some of the Savage over and unders can not be regulated so both barrels hit the same aimpoint.  You just take the luck of the draw.  My Baikal 30-06/12 ga prints 30-06 cloverleafs at 100 yards.

Good luck in your search.
