Model 85 cyl. gap to tight
« on: March 05, 2011, 05:24:07 AM »
My 85 is to tight, after a couple of cylinders of firing it will heat up & cease to allow the cylinder to rotate. Anyone worked on their revolvers re/this problem? If so what did you do & how much did you increase the gap to solve this problem. Your input is appreciated.

Several times. I used a Revlon nail file and lightly shaved down a hair of the forcing cone on a Smith and Taurus. Just enough I could see day light between the cone and the cylinder face. Haven't had a problem since.
