Sidekick Buck
« on: December 17, 2011, 03:20:47 PM »
Northern Nebraska.  50 yards.  Hornady FTB ahead of 90 gr. Blackhorn.  Winchester standard shotgun primer.  Double lung.  Ran about 50 yards after hit.  6 point.  4.5" bases.
This is the day the Lord has made.  I choose to rejoice and be glad in it.

I see that you are from Lincoln,Ne, I live at Wahoo. I do most of my hunting in northen Ne. Own a farm up in that area so it helps. During rifle season, the cougar shot by the Wayne boy, was only 3 miles from my farm. Headed up between Christmas and New years to do some muzzle or late rifle. Zeak

Congratulations!

Those Hornady FPB's shoot awesome out of my Huntsman, and the deer don't like 'em one bit either. Good shot!

Congrats! On the nice buck.  Good shooting!

Bought the sidekick about 4 years ago and have had nothing but trouble.  Tried Triple 7 pellets - misfires and hang fires.  Tried Pyrodex loose and had cleaning/loading issues.  Have missed opportunities on several deer including some nice bucks since purchase.  Thought I would try the unmentionable breech plug this year and some Blackhorn.  Amazing!  No cleaning issues.  Easy reloads.  Fantastic accuracy with the FTB's.  2 for 2 since making the adjustments with no problems whatsoever. The sidekick was a possible yard sale item, but is now definately a keeper.
