Action job ?

I have a 4", S.S. Ruger Redhawk that I really like.  I bought it new a few years ago. Its heavy and built like a tank......guess thats what I like about it. I just confirmed having an action job done on it.  The gentleman I talked to told me they would recut the forcing cone....among a host of other things.  My question,  what will recutting the forcing cone do ?  Also I'm considering having a gold bead and v-notch installed.  But honestly I've never shot a revolver with a bead and v-notch...how about some opinions ?  Thanks

Before you do alot why not get a wolff hammer spring of reduced power and install it . Remove grips and use the furnished pin to remove and replace the spring . Also get some snap caps and work the gun some with dry fire. If more is desired have a smith clean up the hammer and trigger engaugement surfaces. If the gun shoots good I would not mess with the bbl. or forcing cone.

If you have alot of money to through away go for it. If your cheap like me, you can take out the trigger sprig and compress it alittle at a time untill you get the trigger pull you want. Compressing it also lessens the hammer fall so don`t go to far or you will have to buy a new spring. I have turned 2 with real bad triggers into 2 with real nice triggers without spending a dime.
