Octagon can be done with just V-blocks, clamps, shims for one end to establish the taper and the proper calculations and eyeball. After you get (probably) the top flat straight and square the V-blocks index the flat to make another, and 'round you go'.
Well, there is a bit more than that brief description, but that gives your mental juices something to start with; really not that bad to do.

Tim, you poor, sick, deluded individual. My heart aches for you. Didn't the Handiholic therapy work?

(Great plans though!)

Quick,
quit messing around and get one of them made into an octagon barrel and post pics. This lolly gagging about on this project is really getting under my skin. Don't forget the range report. ;D ;D

Tim,

I've been reflecting on the sheer quantity of Handi's you have, and it would seem you have already accumulated every possible caliber and combination.  Then again, you probably won't be satisfied until you do................ ;D

Well, can't help myself, haven't bought a new rifle for a couple years, but thanks Ben!  ;D

More disappointment, although I don't know how serious it is yet, won't know until I shoot it, the first few inches of bore ahead of the chamber looks like they had a problem with the broaches when they rifled it, the lands are dark right up where there's a visible defect around the entire bore, looks like a small step or ring, can't feel it, but I can see it. There are some bad spots in the bore past there also, rough lands and spots in the grooves as well, I ran a Flitzed patch as well as solvent and brush thru the bore several times, but it made no difference. So I won't be doing anything to it except mounting a scope to see if it shoots good.  :-X
