My new [to me] Contender

Picked this up at a local gun store for $300. Chambered in 7 T/CU, with a nice 2X Bushnell scope made in Japan. Not the chinese junk. Bore is excellent, serial # makes it 1989, if I remember. I have tons of 223 loaded ammo, with a 55 gr bullet. I should be able to just shoot these to fireform, right?  ;D

Nice looking wood!  That's a great price too.  Don't know anything about fire forming that caliber but I am sure many here do.  You will enjoy that contender :D  Good luck!

You cannot fire form loaded 223ammo in a 7 TCU barrel.  The brass will rupture at the neck/shoulder area and the bullet will not go straight, may even get stuck in the bore.  Fire forming requires that the 223 case be necked up to 7mm, loaded with a 7mm bullet (with published load data) and then fired.  By the way very nice gun at an awesome price, if you get tired of it let me know.

Great price. I paid that for just a frame last Spring and thought I got a good deal.
