Savage Model 10ML II Rifle Failure
« on: January 12, 2011, 10:50:38 AM »
I noticed Savage doesn’t carry this rifle any longer, is that because some have blown up?

Here is an article I found on-line almost 4 years old.

I don't really understand the concept of "smokeless" M/L,  if you want smokeless get a rifle, and leave the M/L to the big boys

Smokless is really cheap to shoot and requires no cleaning.  Toby blew that rifle up to get back at Savage for dropping him.  His blackmail letters are available online for all to read.

The Savage never sold well because Savage made no effort to sell them.  The Savage is the best, eveything else is just an also ran.

so then get a rifle,  tbh that is part of the game with a m/l.

I don’t want one, I was just wondering what happened to the Savage Model 10ML II.

I have a T/C Encore 209x50 muzzleloader and it suits me just fine and very accurate.

I can't get past the looks.  I want a rifle, not a pistol converted into a rifle.

Yea that’s why the T/C Encore design is the most copied break-action muzzleloader in the business.

Not really.....the Omega is the most copied.  If T/Cs didn't have such an undersized bore they'd be alright.

OK, so also the T/C Omega.

I use sabots with pistol bullets which load easy in my T/C Encore never an issue.

I have a 10ML II and like everything about it. If I could find another new one that was reasonably priced, I would buy it immediatly. It is the definition of the Modern in line muzzleloader.

I don't have anything against the Savage 10ML, but apparantly the muzzleloader buying public didn't take to the idea. Otherwise, they would still be in production.

The muzzleloader buying public buys the junk muzzleloaders they sell at Walmart for nearly nothing.  The don't understand the 10ML-II or its price.  I know folks that throw their spainish made gun away at the end of the season rather than clean it.

Remington doesn't make muzzleloaders.

I'd love to have one of the Savages, wher can a guy find them at a fair price? the only one I've found was stainless and I'd rather have a blued since I dont haveto worry with the rust issues.
I've never been lost,,,just rite fearsome confused for a few months.

I never liked Bridges and always though he was a bag of hot air. I really began to dislike him after his little tirade about patched round balls. Reading his letter to Henry Ball and Savage only reenforces my feelings towards him.
Hi NSA! Can you see how many fingers I am holding up?
