very "Orwellian" isn't it? Did it all start after everybody got their SS numbers or is that just a piece in the timeline?
That's a good point Pat/Rick. I thought about that in Iraq when they were getting folks to register with the government, and had to get their ID #s. They have a social democratic system, nearly communist, where the oil wealth is distributed through the government to the people. Money is sent to banks, and you go to the bank with your ID card and pick up your piece of the pie. The democracy part of that is you vote for the guy that will personally get you a larger piece of the pie.
Somehow we managed to function as a country for over a hundred years, vote and everything, with out SS#s. Now I have so many different #s I can't keep track of them all, and evidently we need to have a new one to use the internet. Reminds me of David and Israel.
