William "Bill" Goforth
« on: January 16, 2011, 06:51:26 AM »
Bill Goforth passed last night - Sat. 1/15/2011. Bill was THE Iver Johnson expert - authored the Book on IJ history and ID. He was also doing the finishing touches to his book on H&R Fireams. Bill was a constant contributor to several firearms forums and freely gave of his time and knowledge. I know that there are more than a few folks who attend to this and other forums whom he has helped or inspired over the years. Im sure that all who Bill helped over the years, including me, will miss him. May he rest in peace.

He and his knowledge will truly be missed as I was looking forward to his book on H&R Firearms.

I am so sorry to hear that.  As a person who recently started collecting with an interest in top break revolvers, my searches for information always resulted in finding his name (and yours, Jim).  Such dedication to sharing one's hard won knowledge with others is an inspiration to us all.

Godspeed Mr. Goforth.
