Today i was at cabeals and asked the fellow working there if i could shoot them out of my muzzy he did not have an answer.So i was wondering if anyone has used this bullet in their muzzeloader i have the disc extreme 50 cal.THANKS

Come on guys its a serious question it looks like the sst but it has the crimps on the side i think they use it in their leverloution rounds.

I've been using a 250gr. FTX in a TC Encore and found them to be very accurate. I use the .452 dia. bullets  for the 450 Bushmaster with a Harvester crushrib sabot, and 100gr. of BH209.

thunderhead thanks i went back to cabelas today and picked  up a box and another jug of bh 209 and some black crushed and non crushed harvester sabots.This weekend will be time to play.

Is the ftx bullet the same as the sst.

Well i went through some old post and found the answers to my question.I hate it when i post a question and after a few days of no replys i begin to think everybody is saying this guy must have rode the short bus to school..

hornady reps have said the 250ftx in .452 is the same as the sst, but have a softer plastic tip.  and ive seen plenty of people using the 325ftx with success but remember its a .458 bullet when you are choosing sabots for that bullet.  i've shot it sabotless in my smokeless ML but not with sabots so i can't give direct experiences with that for you though.  as long as you have a good fit in YOUR barrel with bullet/sabot then its just a matter of finding the right load combo

The 250/.452 Bushmaster FTX is the same bullet as the 250gr SST-ML with Flex-Tip Technology.  Got this direct from Hornady.  Only difference, you can buy the Bushmasters in bulk cheaper than buying a clam pack of SST's.  SST-ML per 20 is $17.99.  Bushmaster FTX per 50 is $28.99 @ Cabela's.  Thow in a pack of 50 MMP sabot's and it's still cheaper.  When I can't get the Parker Hydra-Cons anymore, they will be my bullet of choice.

 All one has to do is get the properly matched plastic sabot for your bore & you can shoot most any 44 cal or 45 cal bullet(50 cal M-L). Some bullet types vary a bit, then so do sabots. The 1st thing is a sabot for 44 cal or 45 cal bullets. Then you have 45 bullets of usually .451" or .452". I usually go with .452". Then of course different guns have slightly different bore sizes.
