Re Using the Knight Extreme Discs

I know that Knight says to just throw them away, but I have heard of a lot of people using them more than once.

I plan on always using the new ones for hunting, but at the range, why not use them a few times if they still fit okay?

If you are reusing them, How do you take the old primer out?  They are really tight and hard to put in.  The only way I have been able to get them out is by using the decapping pin on my reloading die and press.  I get them loose this way and then still have to use a couple pair of pliers to get them all the way out.  I am afraid of damaging my dies.

Thanks,

FH

You can press out your old primers easily by just holding a punch in the vise, and pressing down.

Thanks for the reply!  I got a hint from someone else and have tried it.  It works real well.  Here is the idea;

Drill a 1/4" hole in a piece of wood (I drilled it in mdf board leftover from my reloading bench project).  The hole is just large enough to allow the spent primer to easily pass through but small enough to keep the plastic jacket from going through.

I then use a hammer and a hole punch to pop out the primers.  They sure come out easier now.  I will use this method until I find a better way and I won't hurt my reloading dies.  Thanks again!  Firehawk!

No reason to mess with reloading dies! Wolfhound reuses them, not sure what his "record" is.

I don't bother reusing them (lazy) as a matter of course, but they are good for 5 uses or so, though I'd imagine Knight would prefer you buy news one for every shot. :?

6 times is my record. They get so nasty and loose after 3 or 4 uses though that I pitch em then.
