« on: January 27, 2011, 03:22:01 PM »
I have on hand some cast .358 173gr. bullets. Also, some Unique, and Lil Gun. Not looking for +P. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Lyman 48th manual gives a load for 38 Special with 170 gr cast bullets with Unique. Start 3.7 grs 761 fps Max. 4.2 grs 841 fps and these are not +P rated. They were shot in a 4" barrel.

Same manual gives this load for the 170 cast in the 357 mag.
Recommended powder is H110 start is 14.4 grs 1172 fps Max 15.0 1285 fps from 4" barrel.

I got this load from Load Swap. com
200 gr hard cast and IMR 4227 @ 870 fps.
It's a healthy load but very accurate from my SW 38 44 N frame.
