Question on forend spacer fitting...

Got new forend from GSI.  Got new spacer from Brownells.  Do I just remove wood only to fit, and/or is it recommended to remove plastic from the spacer when fitting them together to the breech and barrel?

None of the spacers that I have removed and looked at have had any sign of material removal.
I suggest making it a tad to the snug side at first.

I agree remove the wood, but just a little at a time and keep checking the fit. You can always remove more, but it's hard to remove less.

I always work on the spacer, specially if you don't have a way of keeping the forend square, it would be a lot easier and less expensive to replace the $4 spacer than the forend if you make a mistake.  ;)

I agree on sanding the cheaper part, but remember that if you do take off to much a spacer can be made to take up the slack.
