Shotgun Inserts By MCA
« on: January 28, 2011, 02:08:07 PM »
Does anyone have experience with shotgun adapters made by MCA sports? I was thinking of trying one for my Savage 24 V in the 20 gauge barrel. Was wondering how accurate they are etc.

I have several different ones, sometimes they work "OK", sometimes they don't.  SO, you puts the money down, and takes your chances.

check in at savage24.com ---one of the fellows on that site is buying some for this mod24 and he said he'd post the results when he tries them out and let the rest of us know how they work

I am tempted to take the plunge and buy one and try it out. I saw the guy's post on the Savage forum and may join him in trying 'em out and then reporting on it.  i would be interested in the accuracy of them, particularly something like an 18" 30-40 krag insert and how it would do at woods ranges under 75 yards maybe. Might be fun.

I have a number of them. One is for the .45 ACP and has a six inch barrel. It is accurate enough to tin can at 25 yards. The real limitation is the sight on the shotgun.

Like i already said, i have several.  Biggest problem is, to get them to shoot to the sights.

And to shoot in the same place after removed and reinstalled. (depending on the model)

  Here's a handloaded 32ACP, in my 30-06 combo,

Of course, it didn't shoot to the sights!
