77/22 Scope ring height

I just acquired a 77/22 in 22 Hornet which came with high rings.  W/o taking them out of the blister package I'm thinking they look too high for mounting a 3 x 9 Leupold.  Does anyone know if there exists somewhere a chart showing which Ruger rings are needed for specific scopes?
I'd just open them up and try them but thought I might sell them if they are in fact too high and figured they'd bring a little more if unopened in the original packaging.

If they are new Ruger rings, still in the package, Ruger will swap them.
Their website had a downloadable catalog that gives the heights.
Some rifles use different sizes, so you may need to swap a 5 for a 3 and keep the 4.

Thanks PowPow,  the website provided exactly what I needed in the downloadable chart.  I may call them to inquire about the swap as well.

I recall them being very accomodating on the swap.
Seems like I gave them a credit card number; they shipped their rings; I recieved them and sent mine back in their box.
No charge/credit on the card that I recall.

That is good to hear; every set of Ruger rings with a rifle that Ive looked at have been too high for any of the scopes I want to use too. Looks like their default is to send the high expecting everyone to use the biggest objective lens scope available.
I want to get it down to just clearing the barrel by a decent bit, which puts my cheek in the right place on the comb.

I gave them a call Tuesday.  The lady I talked to took my name and address and said they'd ship me the rings I needed and all she asked was that I return the other rings to them when I'd received mine.  She asked for no credit card info or anything except my phone number.  She said they usually require the S/N of the rifle I was going to use them on but since I was calling from work and didn't have it available they would go ahead and send them w/o it.
She said they were about a week behind in shipping parts orders trying to catch up from the holidays but I could expect them within a couple weeks.

I might have dreamed the credit card part. I do recall they were way too easy to deal with.
Consider modifying the title of your original post to reflect their excellent service.

Received a new set of med. height rings from Ruger exactly ONE week after placing this call.  All they requested is that I return the set I couldn't use back to them which cost me exactly $1.95 postage.  That's what I call a good deal.

Please let us know how the medium rings work out on the 77/22.  Is your rifle the blued/walnut sporter type or one of the heavier barrel models?  Also, I'm assuming the Leupold 3-9 you are referring to is the VXII 3-9 Rimfire model.  Please clarify as I'm looking to buy a pair of 77/22's, probably tomorrow, a 77/22 R and a 77/22 RM, and my scope of choice is the Leupold 3-9 Rimfire.  Thanks!
