My new twins
« on: January 13, 2011, 02:53:21 PM »
Well I got my set of twins, I picked up my 45lc to night to complete the set. I only had time to fire three rounds of 45 but I like the way it shoots I can't wait to sight it in and fire it for groups Sat. If I can figure out how to post photos I would.

Matt

Nice looking rifles.

I believe you mentioned in another post that one was a Rossi and one was an EMF?  I've been pondering one of the '92 copies and just wondering how these two compare as far as quality.  Is the EMF made in Italy by Chiappa?

Howdy Spruce;

Both are Rossi's the EMF was imported by them but I was told that they go over their rifles a little closer to make sure that the rifles meet their standers. Both of my rifles say that they were made in Brazil by Taurus, I am extremely happy with both of them. I am also impressed with the people and service at EMF, they were outstanding.

Thanks Matt.

Always nice to hear a report from someone who actually owns and shoots the guns as opposed to a test by some gunwriter who is worried about losing some ad money for his magazine!

anytime spruce,

When I get a chance to shoot the 45 I will let you know how it shoots, With the 357 I can hit a 32oz bottle at 110yds (open sights) I haven't had a chance to sight in the 45 as yet.

spruce;

I thought you would like to know that I finely got a chance to sight in the 45lc. I think that it shoots fairly well once I got use to the sights I can hit a 12oz can at 100yds (not much left of the can). I do believe that it is going to be a fine deer rifle.

A 12oz can at 100yrds with open sites is pretty darn good shooting.  Is that rested or off-hand?  Either way the deer in your part of the woods had better take notice.

Brett;

That is rested (sand bag support). I am not use to using the half buckhorn rear sight so I had to learn how to use it and that along with sighting it in took about 75 to 100 rounds (I glad I roll my own) but after that it is fairly accurate. I am shooting a 300gr rpfn bullet and using 17.5gr of 2400 in rem. cases CCI LP primers. I am considering putting a tang or ladder sight on it to see if I can improve it any  better and maybe take it out a little longer, but we will see, I do like it so far and don't plain to get rid of it anytime soon.

Matt - glad to hear it's working out for you.

Spruce;

Sorry it took so long to reply. I do think that both are keepers, I just can't wait to try them out hunting.
