Valmet 412 9.3x74R
« on: February 01, 2011, 12:41:35 PM »
Hi guys
I've got a Valmet 412 9.3x74R double rifle in Excellent shape   Stock set has been slimmed and refinished to remove weight. Rifle weighs 8# 4oz with A vari-X II Leupold on it. Shoots 1.5 inches with my 325gr Norma Oryx loads at 100yrds
I'm not set up yet to take pictures and try to post them.
I am looking to sell this what is a fair price?

I have a single shot (same caliber) and will be ordering a Saice SXS(same caliber) after I sell some guns. Would a trade for a tricked out Marlin 1895 45-70 be fair?

This is an expensive strange hobby but I love it!!!!!

Thanks

the 9.3x74r DR is rather rare.  The scope mount is running $150-$250 plus the scope.

The 9.3x74r is a great DR option.  I have one...

I you decide to sell it GBO has a classified section to post the gun for sale.

  Hey Doug,

Is it actually rare, or are guys just holding onto them???

Back in the day, i sold quite a few of them.

Hey DM,
back in the day you where a 9.3x74R officinado, and understood the value of the 9.3x74r round.  I cant imagine many people in CONUS had the same appreciation.  My hypothesis is that you generated most of the 9.3x74r sales for Valmet.

However I am amending my statement to "The 9.3x74r is hard to come by"

Interesting conversation guys    "Rare"   versus     " no the guys that have them are holding on to them"
As the now generation would phrase it " Same Difference"

I guess my definition of "rare", would be, not very many were made, and i think plenty were made and are still being made. (as 512's)  But, i see your point, of "not that many around" too...  lol
