Any ideas for rings to mount a 3x9x40 elite on a stainless marlin 17vs it has a 3/8" grooved receiver. The weaver rings that came with it are not tall enough for the 40mm.

Take a look at the Weaver Tip Off Rings or Millett air/.22 Caliber 1" rings for a 3/8" grooved receiver.

He makes more different kinds of mounts for use on air guns and rimfires than anyone I know of. He has exactly what you are looking for. I have a sample here at home on my Marlin 882 SS. High enough for any scope you'll want to mount I promise. Fits the grooved receiver perfectly.

I got it on paper today at the range. 3/8 inch 3-shot group at 100 yards. I'm real impressed with both the rifle and the scope.
