Would you like to see a wild edibles Forum Added for those of us who like to hunt mushrooms, and other types of natures foods?

I'd be for this forum. I collect a few mushrooms but don't know very much about them, and would like to learn more.

This would be good if people would show pictures of what is eatable in their areas.  I know of a few things, two in my yard and others elsewhere, wild onions, dandelions, and kudzu.  I know hickory nuts are eatable as well as cattail.  Pine nuts are eatable.  Pine needles can be brewed into a tea for vitamen C but may not taste good.  We also have wild strawberries.

That sounds like an excellent idea for a forum. It would provide everyone with a way to learn about the different wild edibles from different parts of the country.

Another yes!  Here in north central Louisiana there's lots of wild edibles.  My favorite is chanterelle mushrooms.  Here they come out in June/July.  I like to batter and deep fry them like chicken.

Seem to be getting close numbers wise but no one has volunteered to moderate it which is a requirement to have a new forum set up.

I would be happy to moderate the forum! I guess that is only fair since I'm the one who though it would be a nice addition to G.B.O.. I have some moderateing experience on a Muzzleloading forum I belong too.

Yep. Sounds good.
Multaflora rose hips, spruce tips, and purslane for vitamin C. Plantain leaves for antiseptic. Sasafrass tea, just because.
