Manuel Noriega of Panama, and Saddam Hussein of Iraq were all trained by the Bush led CIA at the "School of Americas" in Ft. Benning, Ga. and helped into power by same Bush led CIA. WE! Put both into power, but alas they found they could make better deals with Russian and Chinese business men so WE took them out. That's just a start. Check into how much money we give Jordan and their "friendly" ::) king.
The middle east hates us because we don't care about the actual people of the country, we only support the dictators that sorta back us, and keep their own people down. Egypt is but one example that has finally tired of our puppet dictator.

+1 DEE. If the American politicos use the never ending story of introducing democracy, then why does it upset them to have "the majority" want to kick their pick out of power? Seems they don't see the paralell between democracy and mob rule.

Foreign aid helps empower these "rulers" to go against the wishes of their people, is it any wonder when the "we ain't gonna take it " moment arrives. Why does the US feel the need to have a "you owe me list" of rulers in some of these crapistan nations? Stop ALL foreign aid, save the money to help after natural disasters. And then, only with infrastructure managment, like power, water, crops, food staples, medical, etc. We should not be in the business of subsidizing other nations.
