Picked up a Remington Model 581-S bolt action today, in like new condition, for $160.00 plus tax. I'm not familiar with the model, but bought because of my confidence in the Remington name. Also because it's supposed to accept .22 Short cartridges. I feel the low report of the cartridge, along with the accuracy I expect to see from a Remington, should make this an excellent squirrel rifle.
Anyone have personal experience with this particular model? Are my expectations justified? Let me know the good, bad and ugly.
Thanks,
Cleburne
