Guys,

Not being an Encore rifle expert and more of a Encore handgun user, I have a question. Most factory rifles have about a 13.5 inch LOP. The major arms makers have done the research to prove this fits most of the shooting public. How come the Encore has a 14.75 inch LOP? I find this simply amazing! Being tall, I surely like it myself. However, what was T/C thinking when they decided on the LOP? :eek:

I never pay attention to those numbers. Some guns seem to fit right and some do not even with the same LOP. I do know the Encore fits me and my wife just fine.

HEY,ONLY THE WALNUT AND THE OLD SYNTHETIC STOCK ARE 14.75". THE NEW SYN IS ONLY 14.375" AND THE CHEEK PIECE IS LOWER AND HARDER TO GET GOOD SCOPE ALIGNMENT :eek: ADVERTISING HASN'T CAUGHT UP YET. AND BEFORE YOU KNOW IT THEY WILL PROBABLY BE FITTED FOR THE AVERAGE DWARF LIKE SO MANY OTHERS

Don't know what all this is about, but from what I recall, T/C offers 2
different length stocks. Both a 13 3/4 and a 14 3/4.

444encore your right about the two different length of pull stocks. The short one is what they refer to as their "Walnut Bantam Length (13 3/4" pull) stock" and the other is "Walnut Std. Length (14 3/4" pull)". The composite stocks only come in the 14 3/4"pull.

My old FoxRidge catalog (#6) says the Contender Carbine stocks LOP is 14" and the Youth's is 12" (these are the Walnut stocks). The composite stock is listed at a 14" LOP in the same catalog.

And Batman is an anagram of Bantam. Is this a coinkidink or does HHI have somp'n else goin on here?

DOC AND 444 YOUR ARE BOTH RIGHT AS FAR AS WHAT YOU READ FROM TC ADVERTISING. BUT IN ACTUALITY THE NEW SYN STOCKS ARE ONLY 14.375". THEY CHANGED THE BUTTSTOCK DURING PRODUCTION OR WHO WAS PRODUCING IT. I DIDN'T ASK FOR DETAILS AS I WAS MORE INTERESTED IN GETTING THE 14.75". THE WALNUT IS STILL BEING PRODUCED AT 14.75" AND YES THERE IS THE SHORTER BANTAM.
I GOT THE LAST SYN 14.75" THAT WAS AVAILABLE FROM FOX RIDGE AS TC HAD NO MORE EITHER.THE INFO. HERE IS FROM MY CONVERSATIONS WITH TC AND FOXRIDGE.

Maybe there's not much demand for synthetic stocks so they just stuck to producing one size, one mold. I ,personally don't care for the idea of puttin synthetic stocks on decent rifles unless I've got to pack it for 15 miles. And chances are, if you're on a hunt that requires you to travel that far, you'll most likely be shooting from prone at long distance game such as pronghorn or elk. Shooting from prone changes optimum LOP from weaver stance type shooting. And if you consider that Encores have a bit more of a vertical pistol grip style on their rifle stocks than most conventional rifle stocks have, your length of pull actually increases with with the angle of the grip.
