Being a veteran of the US Army she would probably fill her hand.

Don't know that she would "fill her hand" or not, and thats okay. I got a very qualified nurse to help care for the family.

Hard to say....... But "in an event" people will generally have your back. Maybe not with a firearm but she is instant death with a baseball bat and kitchen knife (: Especially with the kids in the home. No burglar will come out clean from that. Maternal insticts are the strongest in the world, more so then self defense. Self defense stopping the target is satisfaction level. Physically threaten a protective mom and....... every movement justifies another blow. That's just the way it is. Take a lesson from the Grizzly sow and cub...... Same with people.

Don't know if she will do her hand in matters,  but I don't think she will drag me to death.

The lady I'm married to has already seen more "tough" than most.  She not only won't stand back in fear, she'll likely lead the charge.  ;)

Shu has mine covered.

The youngest would also be throwing lead!!!
It may be only a single shot but he can make that ol 7x57 bark, one per target!!!
Give him the old A5 and watch him cut her loose.
3" number 4 buck does make a mess of stuff and from that 34" barrel with an extra full turkey choke can do it at a fair distance.

She's half Irish and half Blackfoot with a temper that would put a gun in one hand and a knife in the other. Only reason she wouldn't have a bazooka is she don't have enough hands!  ;D

I have two beautiful Rottweilers and a pit that are very loyal.  But if Mama is pushed don't get in her way. God forbid a burglar hit here.  Her lack of firearm training means nothing when it comes to her defending herself. Great gal!

My 5'1" (and 3/4s by God!) wife verbally assaulted two Somali men in their early 20's who offered our 7 year old son Khat (Class 3 narcotic). We used a branch as a toothbrush, and they were trying to convince him that Khat was the same thing but he was smart enough to know the difference. Came home and told her, and during mid afternoon in Djibouti (120 degrees) when all the men are stoned out of their gourds, she hustled out there and with 2 words of Somali knocked them both into a corner looking for a way out. The Somali women all stopped what they were doing and joined in - if the earth would've swallowed up those 2 guys, it would've been a kindness. I might have to assist with some technical details, but I think she's got the grit.

I'am married to an Irish, German, Indian gal. I have only seen her temper up once and that was enough for me. She was farm raised with 4 male cousans and they learned not to pick on her real fast. She has kicked butt on all 4 of them. They kid around the campfire that when its time to get the cows in they send her out and she carries them in,  ::) She is a crack shot with hand gun or rifle, keeps one loaded on her side of the bed.

My now deceased wife would have filled her hand and been right there to help. My first wife. Now that is a different story. She would have needed a little cheese with her wine. :(. Maybe that is why see was my first wife. ;D

I'll start by saying my wife carries pretty much 24/7 (we both have CCWs).  Now if the SHTF I would hope that her first priority would be to seek cover for herself (and my daughter if she was with us) and to defend that position.  If thinks transpired too quickly or cover was not available I believe she would cover my back.

Mine ...... no wine.
She knows how to shoot.
But who knows for sure if any of us will.
I suspect she would.
But her best role would be keeping us patched up.
She's been a nurse for a long time.
That kind of stuff doesn't bother her at all.

Mine grew up on a farm and her daddy taught her to shoot.  When we got married he gave her his .38, turned to me and said "She's your problem now!".  That was over 25 years ago, and now not only does she still have the .38, but she's a better shot with my 9mm than I am (I let her think it's her 9mm, it's safer that way...).

I don't know for sure, never having been in that situation, but I figure she'd leave the wine for someone else & fill her hand.

I figure mine will most likely stand there and argue with me when I tell her to duck!  She can shoot but still thinks the red dot from her laser grips will terrify any bad guy into dumping in his drawers and running away screaming like a little girl.  I will say though, her line of thinking has started to change pretty fast in the last few months.
