Pattern tests today....turkey gun selected.
« on: February 06, 2011, 02:56:25 PM »
I finally got a little time to pattern test my two H&R's today.  One is a 32" full choke, Topper 148.  The other is a nearly new Pardner 28" modified.  The long gun gets the nod, as it still throws a good pattern at 50yds.  The Pardner is fine to about 30 or so.  At 50' there is virtually any difference.  The Topper will get a recoil pad and a paint job before our spring turkey season in March.

Any of you guys shooting  these long barrel guns?

Pretty sure my old one is a 28" full in 12ga. It makes a tight pattern out at 50 too, but Ive never had to shoot it that far in the field. With that long 32" just bonk 'em on the head......... ;)
