Let's make the Stalker a stalker.

Stainless Stalker 30-06..out of box , 3hot groups @ 100 with something I had laying around  1 1/4"....not bad...since the rifle is so "G" awful ugly and called a stalker , I decided to chop it up and try to make it a compact carry gun.....stage one is in pic...will follow with changes and performance.

was that the stock that came with it. Had one in 308 and 223 that I never even shot. Sold the 308 here and traded the 223 at cabelas and they gave me 250 when I only payed 149.00. I just got one in 270 as I think I am going to keep it as I might get rid of my 270 bolt as its not as enjoyable to shoot as my 25-06 and 243. Will keep this 270 just for black bear season that is if it shoots. Wish I could find one in 243.

Some additional mods to stalker....removed 3x9 , installed a 1.5x6 for quicker target acquisition . Added a raised comb so I don't have to search for eyepiece when I throw the gun up. Lenght is 33"...weight is 8.25#s..bbl length 18"..archery season..maybe a while before I can shoot....

The raised comb is a piece of scrap hand rail.  Now I'm trying to figure out how to raise the heel. Stay tuned. Next to TC encores , the CVA may have the worst stock design, too much drop at heel , comb line sloping in wrong direction and not proper height...etc

Tey CVA stock fits me perfectly. I guess it all depends on the person.
