My father just bought one and I'm impressed. Smooth action and fit & finish is beautiful. Can't wait to shoot it, especially  if it shoots like it looks.

I have 17HMR barrels for my Contenders and I now want a repeater. I thought I would have to get a bolt action. I eagerly await your report.

I bought one of the 22 mags with the octagon barrel. Abslutely love the smooth action ordered a skinner peep sight for it just waiting for it to arive. My eyes just cant pick up the sights good enough any more. Starting to teach myself to shoot left handed because the left eye is still 20/20. Hand gun is the easiest shotgun the hardest. With the peep this little mag will be the go to gun for starlings, ground hogs and other pests. It is a fun little rifle to shoot, it is tough not shooting ten rounds through it instead of just sliding them back out to put back in the box. I also like the high capcity of the load tube don't have to carry extra shells in my pocket just fill her up. I'm sure the 17 is every bit as good as the 22 mag I bought so have fun.
