209 Primer Blowback
« on: December 19, 2003, 10:25:38 AM »
This is an off shoot from a topic listed below.

I am contemplating a 209 x 50 barrel purchase for my encore.  From reading on this forum, I have two questions.

1.  Will shooting with the 209 primers result in a lot of extra cleaning and attention to my action?

2.  Is the "fire" from the 209 primer going to be consistent from shot to shot?

Answers to these questions plus any other comments are appreciated.

Not here, if you leave the extractor in place. 209's are very consistent, if perhaps more powerful than needed for loose powder / short breechplugs.

You'll be happy with the 209 x 50! :D
