i'm interested in learning to make paper cartridges as well for an original 1859 sharps .52 cal carbine i want to shoot . that link only pertains to making blanks , i want to make loads with bullets to target shoot and even hunt with. i found correct bullets and the nitrated paper in dixie gun works catalog , it also says you can just use cigarette papers . anyone know what kind/type of glue to use to hold the paper seem together ? i'd guess a 1/2 " dowel would work for forming the paper tube . do you then insert the bullet and glue in place , then add powder and glue or tie off the end ?
