Boyd's forend stock question

I was wondering if anyone has ordered one.  The pic on their website does not show the metal/plastic cap that goes between the action and the stock to keep the rifle from falling too far open.  I sent them an email and they said that the stock does not come with any hardware and that the parts would need to be purchased from Midway or Brownells.  I don't see the part on either site and since I want to replace my Survior Stocks with something a little nicer, I would have to cut the front stock and figure out a way to attach it to the forend.  I think whoever answered my question at Boyd's may have been confused so I was hoping someone with experience could shed some light on this.

All that you get from Boyd's is the wood . You can Post on this boards  Wanted Foreend plastic and  Iam sure Some of us can help you out. 26-t

H&R, toll free (866)776-9292, sells the forend spacer and screws(#6 wood screws), swivel stud and forend screw(¼"x½" flat head machine screw) as does Numrich.

Thanks for the quick responses. I tried to search but was only finding threads about Boyd's starting to sell the forends.  Want to dress up my 308 survior with a little laminate since the black plastic is not growing on me as much.

If you order the forearm from Boyds be aware that they are not a one size fits all part.
I ordered one for my 20 gauge Tracker II and I had to trim out the channel in order to get it to fit, and the take down screw may need to be longer, or countersink the hole to use the original screw.

I can handle having to do modifications to the stock to get it to fit.  Think I like the idea of a metal spacer better than the plastic.  Seems like it would hold up better over time.

The Toth Tool one may be out of the question.  The link is not working so I went Google hunting and those sites weren't coming up either.  May have to see who else makes a metal spacer.

The Toth site works for me too, I even put one in my cart!  ;) Don't bother looking for metal spacers, there have been tons of previous discussions on them, a few brass spacers have sold on Gunbroker and Ebay, but not for quite a while, Toth is the only source at this time and he may not have any, he was taking pre-orders at one time, do an advanced search here for metal spacers.

I'll send Toth Tool an email and see if they have them in stock.

Shame H&R can't just offer the spacer and guard in steel.   

I know, I know, that would push the price up.

Tried the site the next day and it worked. Must have been down for something. Ordered a spacer and going for a nice boyds laminate front and back.

Sounds like if we told them we have x number of solid orders for trigger guards, they might do them.

Imagine both in brass?  8)

As soon as I establish The Profino Manufacturing Corp., these are gonna be the first things in the catalog. ;)

Don't count on it, he used to be a site sponsor here and took orders for both spacers and trigger guards, only steel in black oxide, he only sells the spacers now.

I just did the Boyds T-hole on a 22-250. You will find the forearm screw hole is way too large. I went to Ace and bought a plastic washer that has a bushing that fit the hole perfect. Worked like a charm and looks good. It took all the slop out and made fitting a breeze. I free floated my barrel channel and used the o ring to snug the bushing/washer to. This worked slick as the bushing fit the barrel stud perfectly and the gun shoots outstanding.
