The new Mason-Dixon line ?
« on: May 29, 2011, 07:08:34 AM »
Where would you draw the Mason-Dixon line today [June 2011] ? What states or parts of states would be in rebellion ? One side would be the Federals, what would the other side be? What would the uniforms be? Blue&Gray? Black&Camo? Pink&Purple? Would the massive public debt be viewed as economic slavery? Would this be an armed rebellion or just political? What is the final act of oppression or would this be triggered by a total economic breakdown?

Just a few rhetorical questions, not fermenting treason.

DADGONE P.A. where do we begin?
The national debt would still be hung on the Union. Would that create a greater emphasis to hold the Union.
This is a ticklish subject. It is not something I would think we want to touch on heavily, so let's proceed with caution making sure that it is recognized as conjecture.
First and foremost, the Confederacy would have a most difficult time in being resurrected.I am not sure that, as they exhist today, some of the states would join in.
I don't think there could be a Mason/Dixon line.
I will go so far as saying it is not possible--on a lot of levels.
Certainly there could be drastic changes brought about if we got the right people in line and elected.
I for one, would like to take advantage of the electronics we possess. Keeping Senators and Representatives at home and government work be processed from within the districts.
This could create a tremendous cost and time saving institution + put a lot of logistic problems on the backs of lobbyist.
good discussion.
Blessings

I agree, an insurrection would play well for the Federals. A permanent state of emergency would result in a Patriot Act enhancement. My hope is that all concerned parties allow Jesus into their hearts. Not a theocracy, but a nation guided by faith in equity.
