HARCAS REGISTRADAS

These words appear on Smith and Wesson hanguns---at least Revolvers.
What do they mean and why are they there?

Not trying to Split hairs here, but the correct Term seen on S&W revolvers is "Marca Registrada" Means Trade Mark trademark" in English. "Marca Registrada" would typically be printed on products that will be distributed outside the United States. It means "registered mark".

I debated over H or M---old eyes, ya know.
Humm I have three Smiths with this on them all bought in the states.
Are we talking models that will also be market elsewhere?
Are there any that are mrketed exclusively in the states?

No, all S&W Frames had the "Marca Registrada" stamp applied to them as many times frame's are made up much sooner than the guns are actually built, as they stock pile them in storage bins in the company safe area so no telling where it would ship at  later date, that is why we see this on all of them all that came out of  the S&W factory...
