Dream hunt???
« on: May 01, 2007, 04:52:45 PM »
If you could have a dream hunt, what would it be? I'm talking about a realistic hunt in your present condition and mobility.

My favorite hunting used to be for grouse. This is not possible at all for me now, so being realistic I would say my choice would be a wild hog hunt in an area without too severe a terrain.

We have some HUGE hogs here in Georgia and I might get that chance this year!

Every year one of the organizations organizing hunts for disables hunters hold one here in Alaska.  This year two wheelchair bound hunters got a Moose apiece on the same day.  Then a few days later a third hunter got a third Moose.  There is an area across the Chena River in the Flood Control Project, ran by the Army Corps of Engineers, that sees little hunting pressure.  The Corps has asked the general public to refrain from going there, to give these guys a better chance.  They have a large rolling blind that the hunters use to wait for the Moose to come into range.  It's a very well set up program.
Where is old Joe when we really need him?  Alaska Independence    Calling Illegal Immigrants "Undocumented Aliens" is like calling Drug Dealers "Unlicensed Pharmacists"
What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.
