44 Mag on a SB1 frame
« on: February 28, 2011, 05:02:14 AM »
Can I safely fit a 44 Mag barrel on a SB1 frame that started life as a 28 Ga shotgun?  Is the smaller firing pin mandatory or can I safely use the larger shotgun firing pin which I presume is in this frame?
Have any of you done it?

Thanks,

Bill

Yes, you can use a 44mag barrel on an SB1 frame, that's the only way they come from the factory since 2008 and they'll fit 44mag accessory barrels to them.

My 44mag "shortie" is on an SB-1 frame with the larger shotgun firing pin.  No problems .  However I DO NOT load to maximum levels either.
Your milage may vary.
