It's Time to Hunt!!!!

Tree rat season opened today!  If I shoot a tree rat, Sweet Thang won't cook it, and doesn't like it in the freezer, but it's a dang good excuse to get into the woods anyway.  Think I'll give 'em a go Saturday.  Might stumble onto some deer sign while I'm out. 
 
Gotta' get primed up for primitive season on gubbermint land.

Kiss sweet thang, grab a buddy or buddys, go to the woods, set up camp and cook them things up and tell lies all night. Nothing better to relax with fellow hunters and get the season off to a good start.

I cut my teeth on squirrel hunting and still love it to this day. But this year, we are concentrating on hogs and with squirrel season open we can hunt them with Black Powder rifles.

Got out a while Saturday, did some walking and scouting.  I waved at a couple squirrels, just to let 'em know I coulda' shot them if I wanted, but it was too hot to do much but walk, drink water and mop sweat.
 
When the weather cools, I'll thin these tree rats a bit.

Yup, never shoot 'em till after the first frost myself...
 
I don't know if I'll be doing much hunting this year.  Still haven't been able to get to the range let alone the woods.      Shame I have to write a season off... haven't got that many left... 
 
Oh well, I'll get out some I'm sure.
