grampagord, I had seen this recently. This is why I never post a photo of a gun that I may own online. If I buy one they can't tell because I deal face to face and if I sell one online I no longer have it so that helps. Every gun owner needs to know this info. Thanks for posting it.

Great. I never post photos anyway, probably a reason to never learn how. I have heard stories of cell phone records exhonerating folks falsley accused of stuff but........

All of this technology that has become a part of our culture..... is it a good thing? GPS in just about everything, RFD scanners, onstar, and now the gooberment experimenting with GPS "metering" in your vehicles, "you drove this far so you need to pay more taxes than that guy". "you drove from point A to point B in X amount of time. Had you been doing the speed limit it should have taken longer. Your citation will be in the mail".  Modern man.......wonderful.

Why da heck would ya take photos with a cell phone? Phones are for making and taking phone calls. Every thing else I do with the proper tool for the job. My cell phone is a dumb phone not a smart phone but then that works well cuz the owner is kinda technologically challenged anyway. It only makes and takes calls and doesn't do that very often cuz I seldom turn it on more than once a month.

Graybeard, I absolutely refuse to buy one of those new phone that work like a Star Trek tricorder and does everything. I use a phone for phone calls, period. I do not text, I do not take pictures with it. If someone sends me a text I ignore it because my basic phone plan charges me extra for it. I have had my phone for about four years now and it works fine:)

I'm still one who thinks cell phones are dangerous.  They can be great in some emergency situations, but they can also cause a lot of problems.  Mine gets turned on so seldom that it is hardly worthwhile.

HEH. We only got a cell 2 years ago, I never wanted one. It's a stupid phone I reckon, it only talks. I've never used it, my wife does, it's good for emergencies though. POWDERMAN.  ;D ;D

The camera option on my phone saved me a big insurance hassle when a government truck crossed lanes and ran into me.  I took pictures of their tire tracks as there was snow on the ground and it showed what happened.  A picture is worth a 1000 words sometimes.

Stop taking pictures with cell phones, problem solved!

You can also use a photo program like Photoshop to wipe the metadata from a picture.
The metadata holds all the pictures data including the type of camera, camera settings, day/date, and probably the gps location on cameras with the gps feature, once the metadata has been removed, it cannot be retrieved!

If you use a camera to take pictures with instead of your phone you won't have a problem.   Cameras are for pictures, phones are for communicating... should be simple to remember.  ;)
