Spent last Thursday through this Monday in South Carolina.  Have Tractor.  Will Travel.  Five hundred miles one way, but my MF 275 and disc harrow were the Boss Hog this weekend.  Thirty man-hours of tractoring with temperatures hovering around 110-degrees in the afternoons, it was beastly hot going around and around and around and around...etc.  Sure feels good to have that job done.

On 295 acres I prepared ~40 acres of wheat and wheat-oats-rye combination.  Everything was over-seeded with Crimson Clover.  Now we wait for a little wetting rain and some future gentle rains to both germinate and keep the soil moist for crop growth.  Small and tender plants cannot live long in this 110 degree heat.

We use a 3 point 5 ft. tiller it takes no time to break the ground up and we use a 3 point fertilizer spreader for fertilizer and seed then a light going over with the tiller to cover seed and alls well.   Jim

here in SW MO the mast crops are nonexistant due to the lack of rain.or at least on my property.no acorns or persimmons. the only thing growing seems to be the bermuda grass fields and foxtail.neither of which i think are a big draw for deer. we have had wet years the last 2 years and a lot of the does had twins. im seeing more deer than ever before but now im wondering how they gonna winter.i just planted a half acre plot of wheat and turnips tonite and have at least a acre of turnips up and goin good.but we need more rain.
