Factory 357 Survivor?
« on: February 23, 2011, 07:24:29 PM »
Hello all.

I'm rather new to centerfire Handis but just picked up what I expect to be a good one today.  It's a nickel plated SB2 Survivor in .357 with iron sights.  That's a combo I've never seen before.  Could it be a special run for a distributor or was it a regular model?  Anybody have any insight?

The chamber needed polishing and the ejector needed a Kroil soak to free up and fling that brass.  The rear site blade is missing from the base and the sling swivels aren't there.  Otherwise it looks to have been used very little.

BTW - The FAQ's have been very helpful

Thanks,
Mike

Mike, there should be 3 numbers etched in the barrel underlug.  If they match the last 3 of the serial number it was factory fit.

Pete,

The numbers match.  The tag on the box matches too.  Mostly wondering about the history.

Thanks,
Mike

Welcome! They used to offer the Survivor in 357mag, it's basically an SB2 framed Handi, all stocks and most forends will work with it.  ;) See the FAQs for build year info and a whole lot more.
