click BANGS with CCI 200 primers
« on: March 02, 2011, 05:29:17 AM »
Been getting a few lately in my Model Six. Given the small , inertia firing pin is there a better primer? Also, the back of the magazine is showing hammer strikes. Is this a normal thing? The marks are centered on the opper edge of the back of the mag. Its not caving a dent , but I wonder if this is a normal thing.

Ive had problems with ccis in some handguns with light springs and usually use federals in those guns but cant ever remember a problem with ccis in a rifle of any kind. Id have to guess you have a gun problem not a primer problem.

I see folks bad mouting CCI primers from time to time. Personally I think the problem is likely with the firearm or the fellow who loaded the ammo. I've used more CCI primers of all types than all other primers put together. I buy nothing else when I can find them and Winchester is my second choice.

Since the same company owns Federal, Speer and CCI I'm sure all Speer ammo is loaded using them and likely a lot of the Federal is too. Since they are all together now I wonder if they still have two manufacturing plants for Federal and CCI primers but dunno for sure.
