Ontario Buck Pics
« on: March 07, 2011, 01:30:44 PM »
A friend of mine caught this guy on his trailcam early last fall and spent the rest of the season trying to see him during legal hours - to no avail. We figured he must have been totally nocturnal by then.

He has a great frame, but seems to be a little light in the mass department, so I'd guess he might be on the young side with more growing to do. He has some non-symetry, so his score might not fully reflect his quality.

My buddy's sure hoping he'll be back this fall.

He looks like a deer that has more spread than main beam length and would require a eduction in potential score. Even with that, I'd guesstimate him in the 155 - 160 range.

Hunting is Exciting!  Bolt actions are BORING!!

Based on the way his main beams seem to curve outward again at the G4s, I wouldn't be surprised if he had an inside spread in the 28 - 29 inch range.  I based my guesstimates on the pedicels being about 4 inches apart - though from their location on his skull, that distance may even be greater.  I agree that he would be nicer with more mass.  My buddy is hoping he eludes the timber wolves this winter.

Unfortunately I won't likely be able to hunt him, since my friend's land is quite a distance from where I hunt.
