b44mag, Hows that good old Bear recurve shooting for you with the new arrows? Did you get that flemish twist string? Know what I've used for good string silencers?...Hemp, thats right, just several 4 inch long strands of hemp cord twisted into or tied onto the string. Works pretty good! You get some string dust when shooting for awhile until the hemp frays out, but overall quiets the string down. Good luck with your shooting! scout4<><

funny you should ask scout i was just getting ready to post its shooting fine so far  8) ;D
i got the other 1/2 dozen arrows just yesterday so thats my first whole box of arrows  ;) ;D
gold tip expedition hunters camo with 2yellow hens and a white feather
i did end up winning the 2117s at 33 1/4 4 fletched if they dont work for the bearcat
i ordered a flemish string for a indian arcgery 60 in. 35#  fiberglass semi recurve camp bow .
maybe the 2117 will work for it
i went down to the bow shop to get the arrows and the guy asked if i wanted to stand in as jane doe on league night 30 arrows 20yards at the big screen n let me tell you it was a blast im hooked
i only got 2 heart shots 3 kill shots 2 misses a bunch of spine and neck shots 2 butt shots and one that my buddys in good ol WV would like a double  ;) ;D . it was very interesting to say the least . i quit drinking years ago and told the owner that i think this screen room will be my new bar he laughed . im hoping he has a turkey shoot program ill ask next time im down . the string is great it has relaxed to 7 7/8 so far when i put it on it was 8 1/4 im not shooting at a Xs so i havent noticed if it has changed my shooting . just focusing on my ancor release  and form but so far im doing great . the guy from the shop was surprised he said i just might the 1 out of 10 that can shoot a recurve .i told him im going to shoot this bow till it breaks and then im buying another for sure . on the string silencers i ask about making this bow a lil bit queiter he gave me some soft medium weight leather and ask me if i minded gluing something on my bow i told him im not sure. so he said to take this leather home cut it to fit around the limbs about 5 1/2 inches from edge of the  bone down limb and sew it on ever here of this . supposed to git rid of string slap . i got them cut going up to get a leather punch think harbor frieght has one cheap. then some natural fake waxed sinew to sew it together . i think for silencers im going with the slip jaxs friction fit im going to mix it up a lil and see if the jaxs work good. in your pic is that just the hemp on the string looks like it would work good . i need a hunting quiver maybe 4 arrow any ideas?? on a decent priced one

Hey Man! You're doin pretty good! Never heard of leather on the limbs like that, i've seen some kind of stick material that suppose to stop string slap. I never used it. Good string silencers and the string adjusted up into a decent brace height gives the recurve a little thump noise, and that works for me. I just bought a new 4 arrow quiver from Grayling archery, it mounts with two screws, but your bow has to have the bushings for this one. $20.oo from Grayling. I suggest you not have screw holes drilled into that beautiful old bear. I would suggest a good strap on quiver. You can check out 3rivers archery, they have a bunch of different quivers. Good Shooting to you b44mag! scout4<><

i looked at the strap on ones but 100 bucks too much right now . too many other things to buy first
and holes in the bow are not going to happen for sure
was out checking a buddys camp river getting close :o :o
we stopped at archery place and found a allen 6 arrow hip broad head quiver 22 bucks not bad . will hold aluminium or carbons and its camo should work good for hunting. maybe i can carry a doz 6 carbon and 6 aluminium for target shooting . if its not to tight on the feathers
was wondering about the leather being to heavy for the limbs and thought i should just put the super felt sticky stuff there and when my bristol rest wears out im going to try to shoot off the shelf. its rated for 25,000 rubs  ::) maybe.  the new stuff they make surprises me some times

That should make you a good quiver! I have one something like that, had it for years now. I modified it a little an used it more as a back quiver, gave it to my son last year to carry his hunting arrows. I have this new bow now with the bushings so I can use this grayling 4 arrow quiver. Have a good day! scout4<><
