I love hunting with my 45-410 pistol but would like a little more hit for turkey and phesants. has anyone looked into building a rifled 12 ga. barrel with the anti rotion choke. when i looked at the atf site the regs. where vague at best.

what would you pretend it is?  the 45/.410 fits something other than a shotgun.

Is that what makes it legal?  I thought it was the fact that it was not a smoothbore.

part of the reg. reads, rifled barrel designed for a single projectile round. sounds like a 12 ga. slug to me

I may be wrong but isn't 50 cal the limit for cf pistols?
The 20" turkey barrel on a pistol frame is long enough if you weld the choke on.
Just don't use 2 oz loads in it. Not very handy for flying game though.
For the 410, try various brands or reloads for better patterns. Most 10" barrels pater better than 15s.

Here in CA, if it can chamber a shotgun shell [not shot shell] it is NFG. Because of that I can't have a Judge.

The Judge is being made in 28ga.  What rifle round is that?

have been on the batfe site for hours, found references to legally registered short barreled shotgun. but not how to apply. called the regional office and was told to call the firearms technology branch, got an answering machine and was told all questions must be submitted in writing and the time frame for an answer was 90 days. we must be working with the government.
