Barrel Mount hole Specs.
« on: April 03, 2011, 07:01:43 AM »
Skinner sights already makes some sights for the Henry Rifles (see http://www.skinnersights.com/henry_rifles_18.html ) and is developing a sight to mount on the barrel using the two factory drilled and tapped holes just forward of the receiver on the Octagon barrel rifles.

The holes look to be .500" apart but I couldn't determine the hole size or thread pitch.  Anyone know the details on these factory mount holes?

This would be a great place to mount a Skinner Sight !  We use a similar model on the Chiappa Kodiak (oem from factory) and on the Browning / Winchester Highwall with good success!

Thanks,

I too mounted a Skinner site which left the two holes exposed. I found some allen  round headed screws that fit. I did have to shorten them with a file but they filled the holes. Oh and for a gun "made in America" the screws where metric. Dont recall the size.

Metric?

I'll have to check that out.  We are going to make a sight that uses those two holes for attaching to the barrel which will get the peep closer to the shooter.
