Pro Hunter drilled and tapped for scopes?
« on: March 09, 2011, 07:25:21 AM »
Do the new pro hunter 15" barrels come drilled and tapped for scopes?  I have ordered a new pro hunter in 7/08 and am thinking about putting a scope on it but didn't think to ask when I ordered it.

Thinking about putting a Bushnell Trophy LER scope on it.

Thanks for your reply.

Thanks for the reply.  Now just have to figure out a good handgun scope to put on it.  Was thinking about either the Nikon Encore EER 2.5-8x28 or the Bushnell Elite® 3200 2 - 6x32.

With the 7/08 you probably will want to stretch it's legs some so get the most power in a scope that you can afford. The Burris 3-12X is really good but $$$. I have three Weaver 2.5-8X28 handgun scopes that I really like. Really good clear glass and I have never had a single problem with them in and I have used 2 of them for years. They run around $200 . Check out www.bearbasin.com for some really good prices in scopes.

You will most likely want to have some trigger work done on your Encore. It will be money well spent.

If you haven't mounted the scope yet I went with the E. Authur Brown base and triple rings. Remove the original rear and front sight. The 7mm08 isn't that big a boomer but I wanted the added holding power. I am happy with my Bushnell 3200 2-6x32. Don't forget a touch of medium strength, blue Loctite on all of the screws.
