Glock 35 anyone?
« on: December 23, 2010, 03:21:21 PM »
OK, was looking at either the Glock 19 or 17. Now I think I'm more interested in the .40 S&W cartridge, and discovered the 35. The longer barrel and the .40 cal. looks like might may be just exactly what I've been looking for.
Any comments on this pistol?

If you started out looking at the G-17 and G-19, perhaps, you might want to consider the G-34?  I just bought a brand new 3rd generation G-19 as an EDC piece.  It's been over a month now; and I couldn't be happier.

The G-19 is a little tougher to shoot straight at speed than, say, the G-21 I usually carry; but, darn, it's so light I don't even know it's there!  Personally, I don't care for the healthy snap a 40 S&W produces whenever it goes into recoil.  I'd much rather work with either a 9mm or a 45 ACP.

Glock 35 anyone?
Sure!! I'll take one please.
Great pistol. I'd love to have one for IDPA. I may have to see if I can buy one through my LE distributor.

I had a Glock 19 but it was a little small for my hand.  I thought about a gun for target use and hunting application (following wounded wild boar) and came up with the Glock 35. Almost as many rounds as 9mm and with the right bullet cal .45 performance and still more rounds than a .45 ACP.
For me the best of both worlds.

If you are not considering concealed carry, you might enjoy shooting the longer barrel with longer sight radius.

I am not certain, but It may be possible to use a 9mm slide (Glock 17? or 34?) on the Glock 35 frame (if that would be of interest).

I have a Glock 17L (long barrel 17) and have considered buying an additional regular length 17 slide for it.

I think it may also be possible to use a 357 sig barrel with .40 S&W slide assembly, but you will need to do some research.
