I have had mine for over a year. It has fired probably somewhere in excess of 500 flawless rounds. I first broke it in with some winchester white box fmj, Remington UMC fmj, and 50 rnds of fmj from a local basement manufacturer. It worked great with everything. In checking function before I started carrying it I shot Speer Gold Dot, Remington Golden Saber, Winchester PDX1, Hornady Custom XTP, and Critical Defense. I settled on the Hornady Critical Defense for carry. All were acceptably accurate. Non showed any functioning problems.
AS STATED IN THE OWNERS MANUAL I do not shoot +P ammunition in it. Although there is no such thing as a 380+P SAAMI standard (only 9MM, 38Spcl. and 45ACP), some smaller companies sell what they call
+P. Probably either over SAAMI pressure standards, or at least loaded to the edge.
With modern bullets, in accepted standard loadings the 380 will provide satisfactory performance for self defense.
The LCP is a great little pocket pistol. Mine is put in a DeSantis Superfly holster, and carried in my front pocket. Sometimes I even forget it is there.
I do carry a larger firearm when clothing permits, but I feel confident in the little Elsie Pea.
