CORNING, Technolodgy of the near future

Looks like a sure way for "BIG BROTHER" and the coorporations to know all about your life. I think I had rather live in a cave rather than in someones monitor. ear

Cool video! I really like some of these new technologies based on touch screen glass. Great stuff! Nice to see that an American company is doing pretty well and innovating too.

It is titled, "A Day Made of Glass".  What it doesn't mention is the infinite supply of electricity required.

Cool tech video, but in reality it's just a concept.  Getting all those screens in place and working is not too hard at all - the difficultly is in creating a seamless UI that flows and smoothly and as integrated as what's shown in the video.  That's not so easy.  The challenge is in the software.

Overall I think it would be cool, but I don't see us getting to that point of integration.  "Futurists" are notoriously off-base on predicing the future.  Look back at 1960's science fiction and they're talking about flying cars (probably never gonna happen) but pulling computer information from "data tapes" (which sounds down-right archaic these days :)).  The uber-clean futuristic scene has to make way for the reality of messy desks covered with papers and empty Mt Dew cans :D

Still, I think we will see some level of this in a more "contained" fashion.  Rather than everything in your world having a screen, you'll likely still have your computer monitor when many things happen centrally.  Just easier to pull out and fix that way.  I'd wager that soon it would also be common to have a tablet that can be used to control the television if desired, and the idea of the screen in the center of the car is likely, but the tables, windows, and bus stops?  Nah, I just don't see it.

The screen in the dash is already here.  My friend bought a Mercedez SUV last year, it has a screen in the dash with GPS, Sound System, and Communications, all right there in one package.

But I also know we will never see many of those inovations, either we will not be able to afford them or they will be not so spread out.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

I'd say 60 plus percent is here have you looked at an "I phone" or "Pad"
take that and incorp it into a house car your there.
I think Matt was working with a company for droid phones or some other
type of smart app tec, these new touch tec and apps I feel are endless
I see us getting there sooner than most think.
Maybe not a full blown world as the Utube shows but If a man had the
money he could have most of that house today, The car is no more than
a built in "I pad"
