Ruger SR9C reviews ?
« on: May 10, 2011, 06:24:32 AM »
I may be looking into the two tone model in the ruger SR9C ,I find my little Beretta 21a seem the sights are not they were only because as the age creeps and the eye are going south.
I would like to here from guys who own the pistol to here the good and bad on the small compact hand gun.I feel the price is right and I feel a better choice then a Taurus pistol .I am not knocking Taurus but ruger is still a good company as far as replacement parts if need or warranty work.
I wonder the weight difference between my J frame smith chief 38 cal. 3" barrel compared to the SR9C
I carry speer gold dots in the 38.cal 125 Grains with the 9MM have a little more stopping power?

I had to join  GBO last night just so I could post how much I like this gun.Mine has been Absolutly Flawless. No failures feed ,no jamming and {for 2.5 in. of useable rifling} very accurate.Ive reloaded everything from light Bullseye cast loads to +p 147 loads;and it just keeps shooting.Ive found mine shows a preferance to 115gr bullits with 8.0 gr of Blue Dot ,according to my Speer manual. Eveyone bashes the 9mm,but with 17rnds in the clip Im not feeling under-gunned.Inside of 25yrds I pitty any bad guy wanting to mess me or my family. It also carries very nice, dont even notice it. For the price {I got mine for 400 bucks with taxes and related costs} you cant go wrong with this pistol and its made in the USA,and Ruger is a great company that will stand behind their guns and warrenty.

Bought one for the wife as the home defense pistol and equipped it with instinctive crimson trace laser.  Shot for the first time last weekend and I was very impressed.  Ran 100 rounds through it and it functioned flawlessly.  Wife had only shot a .22 semi pistol previously and after the first clip, she we punching some nice groups on paper at 15 yards with the laser in bright sunlight.  The decision to purchase this gun mainly surrounded the narrow grip and weight.  She must have handled 100 guns before she settled on this one and the Taurus.  Went with Ruger for their name and known reliability.
