I'm going to make a small bet that we're dealing with an older barrel with a one piece bolt and a somewhat newer, easy open frame(serial number above 195,000. Most, if not all of the cases where this situation came up this was the case. I've seen some one piece bolts work OK with newer frames, some that wouldn't lock up well enough to shoot and some that would lock and shoot but wouldn't unlock....like yours. If this is the case, the usual fix is to install the newer two piece bolts that TC would gladly supply for free and hopefully still do. If you have another barrel that works well with this frame, it is relatively easy to swap out the lock bolts and check for function. My quick check for one piece bolts is to remove the barrel from the frame, push the corners of the bolt up against something solid and watch the bolt movement under this pressure. A two piece bolt will separate in the middle, showing the split, however it will only do it from one side(corner), so you have to try both rear corners. Obviously, the one piece bolt won't show a split when either corner is pushed.
If you already have a two piece bolt then some bolt polishing would be in order. That has been discussed a good deal here lately and a search should give lots of info. Kepp us posted on progress. Good luck.
