GHog #1 for 2011
« on: May 02, 2011, 03:16:12 AM »
Smoked this male yesterday at 100yds exactly.  Got him with my new toy, Remington 700 SPSS Varmint in 204 Ruger.  The 32gr Vmax entered his head and shut his lights off quickly......
It's all a hot mess...........

I saw my first Spring chuck driving the other day, but haven't seen one yet to shoot at.  Patty has a 700 SS Synthetic Mountain Rifle in .270, and she's taken chucks out to 440 yards with 90 gr. hollow points.  It may take her 15 minutes to touch off the shot, but when she does, she's on target.  I wish I could still shoot like that.  The chuck you got is a good chuck.....he's dead.  We shoot every one we find, and have cut back the local population considerably.  When we first bought the farm, we had them undermining the barn foundations.  Now they're a rarity around here.

Pete, I think Patty has a little sniper blood in her. I like to let critters move around a bit and do their thing while watching them in the scope, knowing that I can take them out at anytime. Wait for the right shot and then lights out. I wouldn't make her mad as she may start watching your eye for a shot someday when you're out in a field or woods doing your thing ;D I'd be nice to her living up there in the wilderness. Sounds like you have a good woman ;) Enjoy

Swift One, I can't find that scope on any sites. Is it camo or did you do it?
